Abstract
Stať se zabývá vývojem interkulturní psychopatologie v posledních desetiletích a upozorňuje na důsledky rozvoje tohoto oboru pro teorii i praxi diagnostiky i psychoterapie a péče o nemocné. Jádrem stati je popis zvláštního vývoje v Číně, který zřejmě vedl k tomu, že v této zemi je deprese téměř neznáma a na rozdíl od Evropy je tu často diagnostikována neurastenie. V závěru stati jsou popsané poznatky zobecněny. Popis uvedených jevů se opírá o současné pojetí kulturní psychiatrie, jak je prezentováno v citovaných pramenech. Nejde tedy o nějaké svévolné či idiosynkratické pojetí autorů tohoto sdělení.
This paper outlines the development of intercultural psychopathology in recent decades and points out the consequences of this development for the theory and practice of diagnosis, psychotherapy and patient care. The main part of the paper gives a description of specific developments in China which have evidently been responsible for the fact that depression is almost unknown in that country, where – unlike in Europe – neurasthenia is a common diagnosis. General conclusions are then drawn from the information presented.
